I haven’t seen anyone talk about this…

Tophia prides herself on having many followers on tiktok. I just saw the video where she signed to an agency and she said it was because of her large following. There’s also several videos of her making fun of people for their followers to following ratio.

However, a following like Tophia’s only matters to a very small, very niche, group of people. In the grand scheme of tiktok, hundreds of thousands of people must have a similar following to her, or even larger.

But that’s not even my main takeaway.

To be truly successful (sponsorships, agencies) you need to have a good reputation, which Tophia does not have. No brand wants to partner with someone with a digital footprint like hers. And how is she expected to keep any partnerships, if she gets some, when hundreds of her followers inevitably dm the brand trying to get her dropped? This scenario has literally happened before.

There’s a reason why several creators with WAY less followers than Tophia get dozens of sponsors. It’s because they have a good reputation, they’re friendly, they’re likeable, they have a NICHE (like skincare, clothes, anything that would make sense for someone to sell to their audience).

Honestly I think Tophia’s stuck in her situation, and I really do sympathize with her to an extent. I dont know if shes happy or content with being a lolcow. There’s no doubt shes getting money, even if its a little, from lives and donations. But if she hopes to get legit partnerships I dont think its possible unless she takes serious steps in saving her image, if she even can.
