Food stamps are considered an income based program. As long as a person makes under a certain amount of money they will qualify for and receive food stamps. There has been a change to the work requirements needed that will go into effect sometime in the near future. Single people who meet the eligibility requirements can receive food stamps.
WIC is a program that is only for households with children under the age of 5. Only certain foods are approved such as cereal, eggs, milk, cheese, baby formula, baby food, etc.
