Even if she had medical diagnoses, I don’t know how she’s going to fill out the forms and gather supporting documentation. Most lawyers only take the case when it’s been denied because they get a cut of whatever back pay you’re owed with a capped amount. She’s going to have to do initial work for herself. It’s not like she can just go online, say “I’m too depressed to work” and someone will show up with a check. Plus I *think* she thinks that the videos she’s posting about being depressed are somehow supporting evidence and they’re not. As other have pointed out’s they’re going to hurt her chances if anything.
But I’ll honestly be surprised if she gets as far as applying.

Im actually on disability because I’m disabled and it took me multiple tries, which I can’t see tophia realistically putting the effort into. I don’t think she would ever do any initial work herself

lol ya... my dad had a huge beam for a church roof fall on him at work...broke his neck and back... took him 5 or 6 years 2 get on SSI... plus all the stuff u need 2 do 2 keep it is WAY 2 much "work" for her.... I'm sure she wouldn't have a problem blowing thru the back pay like they tell u 2 do... hope ur doing as best u can tho!!! being disabled isn't a walk in the park like people like tophiachu thinks..

One time payment and there’s a statutory max.
Basically, if you apply for disability and you’re denied, then successfully appea, you get all the back pay from the day you initially were initially denied, so it can be a decent sum of money. I’m not sure what the max is, but some lawyers run very profitable practices doing only that. I don’t know a lot of details about it, but I recently did a training session on FEMA appeals and was told that a lot of the cases just involved someone not filling something out properly or not providing the needed documentation, so I’m sure it’s similar with disability and for every case they have that involves really having to track down documents or proof, there are several that can be dealt with very quickly.

I know I'm late to the conversation but I'm just thinking about if (and I mean a huge IF) SS decided to send Tophia to their disability Dr for an evaluation. The Dr would see through her bullshit in a millisecond.
She's so stupid yet she thinks she is so smart. I can picture her thinking she is going to go into the evaluation, convince the disability Dr of her chat gpt diagnosis and come out as a millionaire. 🙄
I applied for my minor son and even with years of documentation of his disability we were denied. Luckily, as soon as we walked into the appointment with the Dr that disability sent us to we were approved instantly and awarded backpay. It's a long, oftentimes, grueling process to get approved.

If Tophia managed to actually do all the paperwork for SSI and get approved for it with her ChatGPT diagnoses, I’d be working overtime to report her to the state for fraud. Over half of America has depression and PTSD can be treated with types of therapy and meds she can get for free from Medicaid. She has no reason for not getting a job other than being lazy and lacking employable skills and that’s her fault no one else’s.

Also I really hate to hate keep any kind of mental illness and I’m sure Tophia is depressed. Most people would be in her situation. Still, if you’re struggling with depression as bad as she claims, you aren’t going to be able to force yourself out for socks. Part of the reason depression can be so debilitating is that it can be next to impossible to make yourself go out to something you really want to do or something that’s absolutely non-negotiable.

Yeah, that’s what’s so incredibly frustrating to me and why I can’t have sympathy for her situation. As awful as her brother’s death was, it put her in a position to get help if she chose to take it. Instead, she just chooses to go on and on about her “major depressive disorder.” Which is also so weird to me because I’ve been dealing with depression for over half my life now (and isn’t that depressing on its own) and I’ve been in a lot of communities about mental health and talked to and read writings by people suffering from depression and I just can’t remember anyone using MDD regularly. It’s always been “my depression.” Or, affectionately, “the thing slowly devouring my life and my will to live.” People who always use the proper name for their diagnoses just always raise red flags for me. It always makes it seem like they’re trying to make it sound more serious or more legitimate.
And maybe I’m wrong and out of touch and people are referring to it as MDD now and, if so, I apologize.

For better or worse, since the 90s welfare reform, there’s been a huge move toward focusing on the “deserving poor” and only helping people who help themselves, meaning that a lot of people who do really need it have a hard time getting assistance in a lot of cases. Tophia has stated loudly and publicly that she shouldn’t have to work and has no plans to work in the future. Oh, and we’re all for working. Why would anyone even try to take her on when it’s obvious she has no intention of meeting requirements in her part. She doesn’t want to improve her life, she just wants the internet to give her the house she’s owed.

This was last January when my father passed unexpectedly! In front of my mom and I. Had to do CPR and all. When she talks about her trauma I’m like ma’am my dad had a massive heart attack in front of me and I had to do CPR hell I have trauma, but guess what unfortunately I have to learn to deal! I still get up go to work even tho it kills me somedays bc I miss him so much! Ugh this morbidly obese gopher makes me sick! Also I didn’t go shopping and get on live fishing for Cash Apps and sympathy! Actually Tophia u didn’t do a damn thing to help your brother or mother. When he couldn’t get to fat ass through the window somehow you got out and ran leaving the two ppl who care about u most! Ugh once again this obese gopher makes me sick!
