It’s not that I don’t understand why she wants to own vs rent…

r/tophiachutiktok • by unbeatablenuts •

I just don’t understand how she thinks that’s gonna happen anytime soon considering she’s barely making any money and her brother can’t keep a job. You need good credit, a down payment, a solid income, she has none of those things and hasn’t made any attempt so. She could’ve been going hard at social media and putting money away for a place this whole time. I’ve seen so many not family friendly influencers who barely do brand deals get a job because of social media and somehow she’s worse off than before she joined.

tbh i don't understand why she wants to own vs rent in her situation. them people are not going to take care of a yard, i can see the overgrown grass full of trash already. my mom owns our house that we live in now but growing up it was always one bill after another. she'll be in for a rude awakening if it ever happens. her dad can't just set shit on fire and not have any reprocussions for it and maybe you won't get evicted for getting SWATted but your neighbors will still hate you

All I’ve got is that she wants to own cause then no one can get her evicted but if someone doxxes the home you own that’s worse than being doxxed where you’re renting. She tells everyone on her lives what vehicles they have and what vehicles they want and because her brothers vehicles are always so uniquely decorated her house would get doxxed easily. All it takes is someone spotting one of his vehicles outside the house and they’re done.

        i can see it now.

"these people are harassing me and posting my address online, my address is..." right on live too haha

If you miss so many mortgage payments the bank will begin the foreclosure processs… and you’ll be kicked out, eventually, as the home will be the collateral on what you owe. so, owning does not mean you can’t be kicked out, she’s an idiot.

        1. strawscandybunni Share • 2

That lol, it’s literally like renting until you pay off the house. You don’t own it until it’s fully paid or you paid for it fully in cash. She will never buy a home and honestly thank god. She doesn’t deserve it.

Exactly… it still won’t be hers if she “ owns “, it’s a process to OWN a home. lol her uneducated ass doesn’t understand. LMAOO

Dude, for every home I bought, I had to pay the back electric bill, and they had to make sure my credit was good before turning it on 😭 how will she even get electric? You can argue it's not you that didn't pay, but they will say if you want it, you will pay the due amount 😪

      1. CheesecakeWild7941 Share • 19

my mom once didn't pay the electric bill because she thought she could get away with being a little late and they shut off our electricity. we talked about it again recently and she goes "girl i was never late on a bill after that!" oml 😭😭

        1. Still_Mission_1918 Share • 7

That's what I'm saying: how will she do it? "Like it's the Reddit fault I didn't pay my beel this month, guys. Now I can't see" 😭🤦‍♀️ how? And Marie has the mindset that women shouldn't work. That's a man's job, and she raised Tophia to be the same and just as lazy to not clean or pick up after herself. We saw the home, the motels, THE CARS, and even the nasty bathtub. I can't imagine 😢

Owning a house is expensive. My mom mentioned they would get ahead in their savings and something like the water heater would go out. It was impossible to stay ahead!

      1. CheesecakeWild7941 Share • 2

every birthday that passes by i think i'm one year closer to a mortgage and other gas and water bills 🦧

The overgrown grass isn't a problem in Albuquerque. Lawns are expensive AF here.

      1. CheesecakeWild7941 Share • 1

oops! didn't know that - lived in the same suburb in the northeast for years

        1. BigMcLargeHuge77 Share • 1

Yeah. My "lawn" is a bunch of rocks and sand and tumble weed. 😂

She thinks the VA is gonna give them a house because papachu is a veteran. She also claims that papachu is on a do not rent list and she won’t live where he can’t even though he’s homeless too and they haven’t met up with him. They all also have an eviction on their renting record

  3. sweetdeepkiss Share • 29

Exactly. We’d ALL love to own versus rent, but she acts as if we’re dumb for renting and she’s business savvy by somehow living in a car instead. If we had a choice, we’d rather rent than live in a car.. Not sure why she can’t understand that.

This is what pisses me off about her. I'd love to own and not rent but good fcking luck

Renting saves me so much stress. No mortgages, no down payments, my apartment has maintenance that comes with rent, etc. Tophia wants to act all  boujee despite having horrible spending habits, even gamblers know how to save money.

        1. CanadianBaguette Share • 3

Tophia is not very intelligent nor able to think critically, she takes what she sees at face value, and what she sees all day are carefully crafted posts from influencers showing a bling bling facade.

This really does not mix well with her learned helplessness mindset acquired from her shitty upbringing and constantly living in poverty. The result is a toxic sludge of entitlement, resentment and anger. She is desperately trying to escape her status as a trashy, penniless homeless lolcow by calling everyone broke or bullying them, especially when they bring up accountability.

She doesn’t understand how expensive owning a home is gonna be. It’s not just paying your mortgage and you’re set for life.

You still gotta pay for: property taxes, electricity / oil, sewage, trash, and if anything goes wrong there’s no maintenance man to call. YOU gotta find a company to come fix whatever the issue is and pay outta pocket. And depending where they live, they’ll have to deal with HOA.

    She’s delusional.

Thinking about how much money the upkeep on my roofing alone sends me into a depression. It's so expensive, and she has no clue.

  5. lexmarkblenderbottle Share • 8

She’d get trespassed from the bank if she ever goes to apply for a loan.

  6. Sammy_Saw_Shank Share • 8

It’s lolcow logic. They think if they quiver their lip enough and put on the boo-hoo me act and because they put out the most minimum ass content on the Internet? They think they can sucker people into giving them what they want and they think it’s what they deserve.

  7. thequeens_exit Share • 1

Liiiike I’m sure the majority of people would LOVE to own a home but we just aren’t in a financial position to do so. If people who are making $40-50k+ a year and have stable income can’t even afford home ownership, what makes her think that she’s buying a home anytime even remotely close to now??? She always says that she can’t get a studio apartment because she’s not going to abandon her family as if them all sharing the studio isn’t an option? A studio would probably be bigger than the motel room they had, and either way, staying in a tiny studio with an actual bathroom and running water HAS to be better than living in a car. I don’t understand her logic

  8. Totally_Altaria Share • 1

Despite her living in a car, I don't think that her not being able to do exactly what she wants still hasn't sunk in yet. She wants to sit in her ass and be a social media star, and rake in millions with no effort, not realizing that even IF you can make a career on the internet a full-time job (which she can't), you have to work seriously hard for it. She isn't willing to work for her dreams, she isn't even willing to work for the sake of her mom's health.

Even if I had to eat my words, and she *finally* did get a job (which I doubt she'll do in this timeline), there's no way she'd be financially stable to own a house.
