A SITUATION LIKE THIS, YOU DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. YOU JIST FOCUS ON GETTING YOURSELF AWAY FROM A HOSTILE SITUATION. TOPHIA WENT WITH HER INSTINCTS AND IT SAVED HER LIFE. YOU DO NOT GET TO DIMINISH THAT.
im not a Tophia stan by ANY means, but the fact that this is even being talked about is abhorrent. even i can say that she did not deserve this.

Im sure she thought her mom was behind her but unfortunately old age probably made her move too slow. And some people freeze so mamachu could’ve froze up. In those situations everyone can speculate how’d you’d react but no one truly knows until it happens.

I was in a situation once where a family friend’s grandmother was found unresponsive and her grandchildren who were a registered nurse and a second year med student both completely froze! You really have no clue how you’ll react to a situation until you’re in the moment

Tophia has done shitty things and has said shitty things, but regardless NO ONE deserves to lose their family member in such a violent way. This was in no way Tophia’s fault and it is deplorable how some people are using this tragedy as a way to say “I told you so”. They are genuine victims here. People are disgusting. :(

no one knows what they’d do in this situation! like everyone thinks they do but in reality you really have no idea until you experience it, just like you mentioned our instincts and fight/flight/freeze heavily impact our ability to make decisions esp when your life is in danger. i wish people would be more empathetic and understand our decision making skills when in grave danger are very different from our day to day decision making skills.

Gonna go ahead and repost a comment of mine here cause it really needs to be said louder for the trolls in the back rn. You may be the biggest piece of shit in the world but nobody, and I mean NOBODY deserves to watch their family tragically be ripped apart right before their eyes. I’m not going to discredit what they’ve done and said in the past, but right now in the present a life was tragically taken and a elderly mother is in the hospital and could, emphasis on could, be fighting for her life as well. It takes 0 effort to have even the slightest bit of compassion.

Honest to god she did the right thing in that situation. When someone is carjacking you, GET OUT! Don’t stay, don’t fight, GET OUT!! You can only do so much for the people around you. She probably thought her mom was coming too but either froze or couldn’t move fast enough.
Not a single soul deserves this kind of trauma. I don’t care what allegations, what they said, what who claims, whatever. Watching your brother get murdered in front of you is the most gut wrenching, most horrifying, most diabolical thing to ever experience and nobody should ever see that. Don’t care who you are or what you’ve done.

People truly don’t understand what they’d do until it happens to them. I almost lost my life in a house fire and I froze for a bit and then I ran to break a window like I didn’t think I’d ever freeze in a life or death situation but I did, not everyone can think logically. There is no such thing as a perfect victim. Tophia saved her life and unfortunately Donald and marie had different responses.
