I commented this on another post but we just had a funeral for my grandmother last month after she passed and the plot alone was insanely expensive. A coffin was even more expensive though I don’t think we got the cheapest option. It made me think about people who couldn’t afford it. If one of my parents passed away I couldn’t afford to bury them. Even a basic cremation with no service is usually a couple thousand dollars. And then I started thinking about how I hope they are enrolled in Medicaid or something because without it Marie’s hospital bills are going to make it even harder to get themselves on their feet. I don’t know if there is a medical debt relief program but I know what it’s like to sob over a doctors bill when insurance wouldn’t cover it and I can’t imagine that on top of everything else going on. I’m extremely worried about her mental state because this must feel like a hole she can’t climb out of with all the arrangements to be made and dealing with the loss.

It cost us $37k to bury my grandma back in 2008 and we didn’t even get a headstone, I was just looking back at pictures and saw the invoice from the funeral home. I can’t imagine what it costs today.

As a mother I couldn't imagine having to endure the lifelong memory of one of my children getting senselessly murdered in front of me. I feel terrible for Momachu.
With that being said, I hope the social workers at the hospital are able to arrange for them to get into some kind of a safe housing or placement after discharging her from the hospital. It's possible this may be the "intervention" that will get them the resources they desperately need.

I am so sorry but who in tf wants a Honda or mustang logo tattoo? I knew a girl once, and I shit you not, she had a Honda tramp stamp. Yeah she looked and acted exactly like what you could imagine. I get it's for a I guess decent cause but you gotta walk around with that forever. Why not just have any piece up to a certain size/detail/color for $60? Who on earth wants a Honda or mustang tattoo? Why not just give all proceeds to the funeral expenses instead of getting some ridiculous tattoo that you'll have forever?
