i really really hope these lolcow documentary channels on youtube respect tophia’s and marie’s privacy right now. i hope they don’t post video after video on every little detail about this. i’m sure you all wouldn’t want someone documenting a tragedy that happened to you.
this event changed tophia’s life forever. no one deserves this. and i’m sure she doesn’t want people posting about it constantly.
i don’t like tophia (i don’t think anyone here is really a fan of hers either), but my heart goes out to her and her mother.

The 2 High 4 Stupid guys (Kiwi and Smokey) had planned to release a parody album this week about the Slydells and they've stated now they're pulling that, not going forward with it. I think they're among the bigger channels covering this sort of thing so I would hope that's a good example for folk to follow.

Leaping lemur and kiwi tapes had remarkably less empathy that I expected. They weren’t mean about it but the comments on the videos were 10x more empathetic than the actual videos were. I get that none of us are fans of her, but even if you hate her some basic compassion it’s natural in this situation. Maybe I’m wrong but idk it just rubbed me the wrong way.

I know Major Chilla made a video but it was a short one going only over what had been released by Tophia and news up to that point, and he stated that he would not be monetizing the video. I’ve seen that Kiwi and Leaping Lemur have also made videos on the subject, and I should hope they take Chilla’s route by sticking to the facts and avoiding monetization.
I don’t think it’s a problem to update your viewers as long as you maintain a respectful attitude. Should they have waited? Probably. Is Kiwi’s thumbnail kinda weird given the circumstances? Absolutely. But the actual action of simply giving an update on a situation is not and should not be an issue.

I think kiwis video was ok more or less but lemurs video was pretty insensitive. I doubt they monetized them and kiwis video had no personal opinions just general knowledge and how he hopes they’ll recover. In the end I think keeping us updated is not bad but at least handle the situation with empathy.
