I’ve deleted my two other posts from today, I am going to have this be the master thread so I can pin it and be done.

I want to start by setting the record straight on a few things I’ve seen in here and on TikTok. I am speaking for myself and cannot speak for any other mods on this subreddit. But I would argue I am one of the more active ones and one that has been here the longest. One thing I cannot tolerate is misinformation, especially when it is accusing people of something where no blame is to be had.

1) Doxxing, in any way shape or form, has never been tolerated in this subreddit. When I joined in 2023 it wasn’t tolerated, it hasn’t been since then and will never be tolerated. Prior to one of the mods we have now installing an auto-moderator, we were manually approving/taking down posts one by one. Unfortunately, sometimes things fell through the cracks because I am not on here constantly and neither are the other mods.

What you DON’T see is the numerous amounts of spam we get per day giving her exact location, saying what park she’s at, where Donald works, the specific library, etc. If I see it, if any mod sees it, we delete it. Sometimes things aren’t seen. However, we have NEVER deliberately set her up to be doxxed or given away her location in any capacity. Pictures of her in PUBLIC spaces are shared here AFTER the fact when she is no longer actively there. We have NEVER shared her location telling people to find her/make contact with her.

2) A snark page is for documentation, discussion, observation in my opinion. Tophia posts herself publicly, so like anyone who does that, she is subject to accountability and criticism. That is all we have tried to do with this page. Myself nor any mod has ever wished harm on Tophia (or family). Are some people hateful? Yes - but that’s why we have rules and try to abide by them. But just like doxxing, telling Tophia to harm herself in any capacity, racism, ableism, etc. has never been allowed.

3) Posts today have been removed just because I am trying to keep it organized. No direct disrespect to anyone if your post was removed for no reason. Given the severity of the situation I just want context to be readily available and not murky between various posts.

I’ve seen a couple accusations that we (as in the reddit) are “deleting things”, “cleaning things up”, going back months and months to delete posts. None of that is true. Again, only things we have been deleting are related to today due to severity of the situation and general rule breaking. But not one moderator is going around deleting posts - because we have nothing to hide. No one on this end is panicking because we have had human decency the entire time.

In summary: This is a tragic situation which has no person to blame. The human brain defaults to placing blame because it’s how we make sense of horrific things like this, but the reality is this is just an extremely sad situation that happened for inexplicable reasons.

I am not trying to absolve anyone; as a community I agree we need to work on being kinder and focusing on rehabilitation, not cancellation. But again, I am sick of seeing nonsensical claims be made about myself and the other people in here which have no weight.

Going forward I would like this sub to be more directed to what I mentioned above - documenting and observing, holding her accountable, but we will draw the line at hatred as we have always attempted to do.
