Where is everyone’s empathy
I have noticed that in this sub many people are saying that Tophia doesn’t deserve empathy because of her past.
I know she has done some shit acted in ways that are abusive and creepy. But at the end of the day Tophia was a product of her environment. She had or has an unconventional lifestyle not really valued by the public.
What happened was a tragedy. My question is how awful of person do you have to be to not deserve empathy from the community.
I do think Tophia deserves empathy. If you don’t think keep your opinions sympathetically to your self. It has not even been 48 hours.

Yeah I saw that honestly made me too feel uncomfortable. I just don’t think people should be saying that she deserves what happened.

As a lolcow, people wouldn't have given nearly as much thought to her actions if she was a conventionally attractive white woman.

I'm saying that lolcow culture is horrible. Most of these people are developmentally delayed, mentally ill, or otherwise lacking in cognitive faculties and they get torn apart because they're easy targets and the people doing it see nothing wrong with their behavior because "X did THIS!!! I have the moral high ground. My harassment is justified." I'm sure a few of them are really that bad but most aren't.

Yeah for sure but considering the circumstances of her upbringing, she's surprisingly more well adjusted than one would expect for that kind of situation. Tophia never had a chance. I just don't think most lolcows, her especially deserves this level of hate and harassment. The scary part of all of this is people think they're completely justified. Idk if you've ever taken a look at the Eugenia Cooney snark sub but omg it's horrific. The lolcow isn't the interesting part to me, it's the ones taking time to punch down on them. It says a lot about you as a person. Not you in particular, just in general.

Oh absolutely if tophias anything it’s incredibly resilient!! Yeah I personally never understood the aggressive amount of hate tophia gets when the likes of Andy ditch exist lol.

It's because she's a flawed woman who isn't white and doesn't fit into modern conventional beauty standards. So everything she does and says is considered far worse than it really is. And literally. Andy ditch is so so so much worse.

Dude did you watch the last update she made? Not a single mention of her mother and how she was doing, just straight to business about the cash I pray they keep the money raised by his friends separately and won’t give them to tophia. Idk man if my brother was killed before my eyes I’d be on haladol strapped to a stretcher, I’d be hysterical.
