My mom lost two brothers in their 20s both in the Air Force and there was no GFM. No blaming anyone to get money or cash apps. They went back to work at the restaurant we owned at the time. And smiling for others to see while having to work. It’s called adulting.

While yes this a part of grief blaming anybody you possibly can, it’s still fucked that she’s acting like she didn’t have recourses sent to her that she actively ignored because her pride was too heavy. So many people would have been grateful to have access to a shelter even if the food wasn’t great and the beds were uncomfortable. When you’re in dire situations like that you’ll take up any possible chance to get help even if it’s temporary. Hopefully once her minds clears up a bit she’ll realize that this isn’t a way of life for her anymore and she needs to accept help NOW. I’m glad she was able to get a go fund me set up but I fear it will be spent recklessly unless someone else holds it for her. Nobody would ever forgive her if they found out the funeral donations were spent on event tickets or TikTok shop junk.

Rant Warning: Tophia will never admit the only reason for her online presence is for a safety net. “More people know me than the next person, so I’ll never truly be alone. When I do can’t, others will”. I’m not trying to attack her at this time by saying any of this; there is no true logical reason why a stranger or following would help her. Any help is voluntary, as it would be with friends, community, coworkers, etc., but she reaaallly seems to see it as duty to all. I get that the stress of the situation may be making her think this now, but it’s obviously been a belief of hers for a long time. I could easily be in the position she’s in if I made the decisions she and her family made. Anyone could. I don’t know if she has the capability to truly understand skill. She has none. She’s not skilled in anything she’s said she wants to do, and has never applied herself in or tried to obtain any skill outside of being online. That’s why she talks so badly about jobs. There are programs that assist unemployed individuals with free accelerated vocational and technical courses. While they might not get you a top position, they can give you skills to add to your resume FOR FREE. Maybe then she’d have some pride and carry herself better, securing employment. But no, all tragedy is because OTHER people didn’t act when it mattered and now she sees herself justified in weaponizing “I told you so”

They didn't choose to be in this position (arguably), but they chose every day to *remain* in this position. Tophia could have gotten a job. They could all have applied for state assistance.

Most people felt empathy for her when news broke of all this. That empathy was short lived when it became clear she was going to milk this for financial gain. It would have been one thing to hear her going on about losing her brother and upset about her mother or even a fucking update on her mother’s condition as I am sure people are asking.
