gofundme goal
i dont know if anybody else has noticed this, and this could just be me tweakin out. but has anybody else noticed that the goal keeps rising for the gofundme ? i know it takes a lot to fund a funeral, so im not gonna shame anybody there. but each time i look, it goes up by a couple of thousand. first, it was 3.5k (?), last night it was 6.5k and now its 10k. i have zero idea how gofundme works and whether or not youre allowed to raise the goal up, but if anyone knows, please explain it to me.

i think you can also just leave it this way, i’ve seen many go fund me go over the goal, but the main goal was still the original, people still chose to donate, here it just feels like “ oh well we’ve reached it but let’s see if people can donate more” like they wanna profit off of it

i feel like tophia is taking advantage of the situation. she’s trying to profit off of her brothers death and her mothers hospitalization. SHES GONNA SPEND THIS MONEY SO FAST 😭😭 i mean i did donate to it but im starting to have second thoughts. i felt really bad at first but now shes back to her old ways.

Does it truly matter though?
The cheapest funeral and I mean absolutely no frills, no body viewing, nothing is like $3k IF that. Depends on where you live. My sisters funeral which there was none was $10k just for cremation. I think that hurt the most

Yep. That’s cremation, urns for her to go into, stuff like that. No viewing, no funeral for 10k in Charlotte, NC. My grandpa’s funeral which had a viewing, funeral, 21 gun salute, nice casket was $5k. That’s in West Virginia.
Funeral industry is ran by vultures. They prey on your worst moments.

They have veteran benefits and the cremation is free as well as being buried in Arlington. That’s if the father was discharged honorably.

No idea. I know the army paid about $4,000 and we got him a nice gravestone with it, but I don’t remember much about it

Okay, well some people don’t wanna do a cremation. It’s different per place. Glad you researched it though. Funerals are different, and honestly for the way he died, he deserves a funeral for her and her mom to honor him for trying to save their lives and get that closure I didn’t get. You know what it’s like to see your sibling dead and not honor them? Sorry you feel differently.

Lemme say it again for those that missed it but the sins cremation and burial and stone are free if they decide to let him be buried with his father which would not only be free but nice. TlDonald Sr would have to ok it and they could do it. I’m sure he would give an ok.

honestly, as someone said previously, they probably realized how much funerals actually cost. just a casket and a burial plot can be well over 10k, plus a headstone as well.

I noticed too. Why do you need 10k for a funeral? Also saw someone mention that since Donald sr is a veteran, they can get the burial covered by the state?

gofundmes can increase goals after they've been met, that's a typical thing. i'm guessing his friends didn't realize how much attention this case was going to get or how many people would actually be donating. i don't see an issue since it's not going directly to toph.
