I Don’t Like Aunt Karen
Keep in mind y’all this is my opinion, but Aunt Karen loves to act like she’s the voice of reason, swooping in when there’s a situation, but where was she when it really mattered? Ever since this whole situation with Tophia’s brother, she’s been trying to position herself as the point of contact, the one “keeping in touch” with Tophia, the one “keeping us updated.” But let’s be honest—she’s not doing this out of genuine concern. She’s doing it because she wants to look like the hero.
And the thing is, she always hides behind that excuse: “I can’t help someone who won’t help themselves.” Especially when it came to the situation with them getting kicked out of the motel. On the surface, that sounds reasonable. You can’t force someone to change if they’re unwilling. But let’s not pretend that’s always a valid reason to stand back and do nothing. People in crisis don’t always have the clarity or resources to pull themselves up alone. Sometimes, real help isn’t just about offering advice and waiting for them to “take it”—it’s about stepping in when they can’t, about being consistent even when they resist.
And let’s not ignore the contradiction here. If she really believes that, why is she so involved now? If Tophia was beyond help before, why is she suddenly worth “saving” now that there’s attention on the situation? The truth is, Aunt Karen doesn’t actually care about whether someone helps themselves first—she cares about how she looks helping them. When there was no audience, no social reward, she didn’t step in.

Tophia basically openly refused any kind of advice or suggestions when aunt karen was telling her she needed to get offline and get a job on those lives, and then attacked her afterwards. Maybe she thinks this time will be different, or that even if it's not it's at least worth throwing tophia a bone in a time of even more serious desperation. Right or wrong that's basically the view of most of the audience right now.

That’s a fair point—Tophia absolutely rejected advice and even went after Aunt Karen when she tried to intervene before. No one’s denying that. But here’s the thing: if Aunt Karen truly believes that helping Tophia is a lost cause unless Tophia wants to change, then why is she suddenly so invested now?
The reality is, Tophia is in an even worse place now than she was before, and while it sounds noble to say that she’s “throwing her a bone” in a time of desperation, it also just happens to be a time when there’s a bigger audience, more eyes on the situation, and more opportunities to look like she’s helping. If Aunt Karen really cared, she wouldn’t have just washed her hands of it before, waiting until things got this bad to step back in. And if she really thought Tophia was beyond help back then, what changed now besides the fact that more people are watching?
It’s not about whether Tophia deserves help everyone deserves a chance to get back on their feet. But let’s not pretend Aunt Karen is suddenly doing this out of pure selflessness when she’s making sure everyone knows she’s involved. If it was just about helping, she wouldn’t be branding herself as the key source of updates, the person “keeping in contact,” the one making sure we all know she’s the one extending the olive branch. That’s not just throwing a bone that’s making sure everyone sees you doing it.

Back in January of 2023 Aunt Karen hosted a live stream where she dressed up as a court judge and invited Tophia to come up to the live to give her case and reasoning as to why people should donate to her GoFundMe. That live turned into Aunt Karen inviting other people up to the live to expose Tophia for all the wrongdoings she has done and been accused of. Those people were basically arguing against people donating to her GoFundMe. That live turned into Tophia crying and her going to start her own livestream to cry about what happened on AK’s live. There’s one video of her saying that she’s not going to argue with people with “powerpuff girl or anime” pfp and someone pointed and called out her hypocrisy. I agreed with them.
