To be fair this news article was released after the carjacking/murder. I don’t know anything about the areas in Albuquerque personally, but I guess the family has been there their whole lives and should know much more, I know all the bad neighborhoods in my city. Maybe they didn’t know about this particular park being as bad as it is? Idk but in general Albuquerque sounds like a place you don’t want to be sleeping in a car or on the streets period imo. I’m still stuck on the fact that the family flat out refused to go to a shelter.

I think I saw somewhere stating that tophia said that their doors didn’t lock, that’s why there was that one guy in there eating marie’s vienna sausages once.

I think that incident you’re talking about happened in another car that they had because Tophia talked about storing her belongings in that car that the guy was in. I also think that they had a convertible that was stolen as well because she talked about that being in storage or wanted to put it in storage. It just needed to be fixed up.

A BMW convertible as I recall, one that Don Jr didn't have the pink slip to at that, and it was the legal owner or a towing company coming to take possession of the car and Tofurkey called it "stealing"
The Buick Rainier did not lock and it was towed/impounded.

I don’t know if she mentioned that during the livestream, but I believe it! They didn't need all the cars they had, but they spent their money like they did. I just don’t know if, after everything, she and her mom will be able to save any money.

I think Tofurkey will end up arrested for elder abuse and negligent homicide against Maria and be found unfit to stand trial at the end of all this.

From what Tophia and the news said, windows up probably locked(I hope they locked the fucking doors at least). The carjacker shot through the window, killing Donald, which woke up Tophia.

A few blocks up is still dangerous. It’s not safe to go out at night in Albuquerque period. If they tried to park long term in one of the safer residential areas they would have been removed quickly.

That’s my thing I don’t understand why living in that park was a BETTER situation than a Homeless shelter.
It’s one of those things where when you walk into fire you kind of have to expect to be burned. I hate to say that but that’s how I feel.

Because big t’s big self couldn’t be comfortable on their “hard beds” so if she isn’t comfortable she couldn’t possibly suck it up so her mom has a bed and shelter to stay at

I feel like if I were living in a car with two other people - family members no less! - the last thing I’d be concerned about is sex. Nothing would turn me on. Imagine perving out with your mom!
I’m thinking maybe they stayed in a shitty neighborhood because they’d be less likely to be chased off by cops or a security guard? Even that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. There are plenty of stores and that keep their lights on all night, especially in mid sized cities. Unless you’re noisy or stay there every single day without moving, most cops will leave you alone. It’s like none of them have any kind of real world awareness.

I'm pretty sure Walmart lets truck drivers and RVs stay in their lot overnight no questions asked. If they just parked at a Walmart in a halfway decent area no one probably would have even batted an eye. Plus they would be close to food and maybe even a gas station to keep their car fueled.

Anyone with basic knowledge of abq would tell you tophia was in a dangerous area. She was probably in the second highest crime area besides central.

In 1996 I was traveling to Phoenix from Florida and stopped for pizza. I had a pew pew in my glove compartment. Well a homeless guy on the side of the pizza place was watching the cars. It was parked about 100ft away from pizza place with my cat inside so I left it running and locked(stupid and young). Well almost lost my car, gun and most importantly my cat that day. Someone inside the pizza place was my hero bec he was watching and said he would walk me out. The guy strolled away casually like he wasn’t about to take my whole life away. My angel wouldn’t even take a tip. A true gentleman (I was young and cute then lol)

Probably thought the car was safe in that church's parking lot but that whole area is rumored to be cursed with how much crime happens. Like you go a few blocks in virtually any direction and it's safer. I didn't even realize they were up there, figured they'd be off central.

I don’t know why she insisted on staying there, like she said she was looking at a house she could afford but wouldn’t get it because it was outside her city, like so what? It’s not like she had to stay close to work or family.
