question about tophia's retelling
very confused because she said that a troll threatened to bust the window and drag her out, and that the carjacker busted the window and dragged her out of the window. despite the... unlikely possibility... of her being dragged out of a sedan window, did she not say that she ran out of the car?
also, she said that at first she thought it was trolls pulling a prank so she pulled a blanket over herself, and later on she stated that she wishes she never went to sleep and could've warned her brother that they were being approached and wake him up. maybe its my poor understanding of Chulish (or perhaps i just don't really understand english all too well) but is she saying she wishes she didn't go back to bed after the first initial shot was fired? or is she saying that she shouldn't have gone to bed that night?
i'm not trying to accuse her of anything, just trying to understand what is going on.

It’s actually pretty common to not have an accurate memory of traumatic events. Stress and fear can alter your perceptions of what happened and cause you to add in or leave out details.

oh ya for sure i agree tbh when i left my abusive relationship i honestly forgot a lot of what happened and flubbed some stuff. i couldnt even remember what was going on in my personal life, i just wanted to know what happened bc i thought thats what she said and i saw some comments on a youtube video of her story saying the same thing

Honestly I’m going to try to be nice and assume she’s misremembering due to stress. the situation was stressful so we probably will never know exactly how the attack happened because 2/4 witnesses are dead and the 2 that are left are so um slow… that they’re basically unreliable. Probably the most honest account we may have on it is the 911 call (which I doubt will ever be released) and the story tophia posted after calling 911 which she says she ran out the car I think

I’m pretty sure you’d remember the window next to you being broken and then being dragged out of it.
The reason why she’s enbolden with lying and exaggerating now is cos of people like you, constantly coddling her and giving excuses.
Her story was consistent until now

okay im not 100% sure but i THINK donald was shot through the car window which simultaneously busted the window and killed him and also woke her up then she proceeded to run out of the car and the carjacker was probably yelling at her to hurry up or pulling her to get her out quicker and didnt immediately shoot her too since she was already on her way out i guess shes saying she wish she never went to sleep in the first place and that she shoud have had some sort of foresight that wouldve woken donald up before he was killed. idk about the troll thing though
