Yeah I think it is the sound of her coughing being cut off. Poor Marie.. Though I know that she is Toph's biggest enabler, a questionable person in general and she has brought a lot of this stuff on herself by being a lazy person and a pretty bad parent that did the bare minimum, nothing more nothing less for her children just like Donald. (She and Donald caused their children to not have a very stable life due to their poverty and having to live by going in and out of shelters all of the time, which undoubtedly has done some emotional damage, no questions there ofc. Which her shitty childhood is not a valid excuse anymore to constantly hide behind and not a reason not to find a job though, Tophia!!) So yeah, besides the fact that Marie kinda made her bed this way and now had to lay in it like this, I still do feel kinda bad for her like most if not almost all of us probably do. She has had a very tough life (which again, isn't an excuse but it does play a role in how someone develops & turns out as a person.) She has these pretty bad health problems, and now she has even been shot in her face because of the consequences of the actions of her stupid daughter and her husband who totally can't handle money responsibly and ended up not paying the rent because Marlboro menthols and makeup palettes were the priority apparently! 🙄 Which is pathetic, but she just has to deal with it and go with the flow (she doesn't have to but she does because it's the "easiest" way and she likes taking the easiest decision or solution when a problem arises, plus since she's so codependent with Tophia, she obviously doesn't want to be apart from her daughter so of course she agreed to live in the car with Tophia and Donald Jr.!) But that decision and the consequences of Tophia and Donald's actions is of course the reason why they became homeless in the first place, once again! And she, being the peace holder in the family and the one who kept all of them together pretty much, unsurprisingly wanted to stay so the poor woman gave up her comfort to stay in a fucking car and be homeless with her kids because she also didn't have another choice herself ofc because she was dependent on Donald, Tophia and Donald Jr. since she's too sick to be able to work. So you can say that this was her own choice and thus her own fault, but I still feel bad for her since her life is already so difficult now with her being ill in general, being homeless, deprived of all kinds of nutrients and physical needs (since her daughter is awful when it comes to taking care of her mom or even herself ofc), and now she lost her son and she has been shot in her face which is sich a horrible and shocking thing to experience obviously! She knew they could potentially be in danger at some point, but no one of course could imagine that something so horrible could have taken place! So I do feel quite some compassion for Marie, from the perspective of how she must feel now because she lost her son just like that in a wink and almost lost her own life as well! That's obviously very shocking and must feel so super scary and surreal! Plus now she finally can sleep in a bed of course and thankfully nurses are taking good care of her for the time being which is very important ofc, but now she has her daughter there with her which she is used to and must also feel comforting since they're so codependent on eachother! But it also obviously stresses her out to hear her daughter talk bullshit non-stop all day because you can her the beeping of the monitor also speed up at certain times when Tophia is really yapping, which idk if that's helping or hurting Marie since too much stress is not good at all of course and she has to recover so sleeping as much as possible and relaxing is also very super important for her recovery process!! Which Tophia is hindering by bullshitting about stupid topics all day next to her mother! Plus, her mom is in a shared room if I understood the source correctly, so that means that Tophia is not only bothering and hindering her mom's recovery process and relaxation time, but she's also doing that to one or more other people which is absolutely insane!! If I were that other person who has to share a room with Marie, I would totally do something about it by asking if Tophia could only visit at certain times in a strict schedule or I would be petty and just file so many complaints about her disrupting the peace plus her stinking up the room so that she couldn't come at all anymore loool. I really couldn't deal with her stinky and loud ass sitting in partially MY room, venting about colorism while loudly devouring 5 patty melts in 2 minutes and yapping about Jungkook etc. While smelling like a garbage truck! I really respect that person so much and fewl so bad that they have to put up with her!! 🫠 (Sorry for the very long essay btw!!)

Never thought about it this way. It’s a cruel thing to say but you’re right if it was tophia that passed that day Donald would’ve actually taken care of Marie and continued working without tophia holding them back and spending their money. I would have reported her, and as a mandated reporter, I'd call APS to look into her. I know in my state, if Marie needs care after and they do not have a home, she would not be able to leave, and I'm in a shity state

It has nothing to do with her “skin tone”. Black comes in all shades. We question her being black because her Mom said Donald Sr. Isn’t her father. Which means anyone could be her father. Donald Jr is the same shade as her and he was clearly a black man. She always wants to be the victim.

Without tophia in the room they need to ask Marie if she wants to go to a home or shelter ALONE. That woman needs help she’s recovering from a gunshot wound and that horrible cough has only gotten worse she needs to help herself
