Not necessarily. If it's a smaller caliber and a clean shot you'd probably not even notice especially since she is already very wrinkled. My Uncle was shot back of the head and out through the ear. He was only missing his earlobe. The exit wound would be bigger and gnarlier than the entrance and the entrance was through her face. So if there were a mess it would be where it exited in the ear. I imagine she may be deaf in that ear now.

She also has many broken bones that are probably going to take surgery to help fix/reset, so she’s, at the least, going to have some scars. I’m assuming it was a .22 or something because she’s very lucky to be alive after being shot where she was. She could have bled to death from where it exited near her ear/neck area.

Yep. I also assumed a .22. She was hit close range. Her jaw is shattered. I assume her upper jaw and possibly the maxillofacial joint. It would have taken her awhile to bleed to death from where I think it hit unless it hit the superficial temporal artery between the cheekbone and ear. I don't think she would be alive if it did. Horrible way to die.

Her mom is absolutely on Medicare I'm sure of it. As shitty as Albuquerque is, the main hospitals are very forgiving. UNMH is the main trauma center for the state and since it's connected to the university they will forgive a lot of bills. Presbyterian is a religious hospital with a great indignant people's program and will forgive debt. Lovelace is the womans hospital and they have great programs as well. The hospital bill is the one thing I am not concerned at all about. They absolutely will have someone in there to deal with the bill as soon as Marie is able to if they haven't already. I'm betting she's at UNMH since it's the trauma center.
