Downvote me all you want. I am definitely not a Tophia Defender or supporter of her at ALL, but to say she is not a victim of gun violence is harsh and not true. Gun violence took her brothers life right in-front of her own eyes. Yes Marie is a Victim without a doubt. Marie not only watched her son be taken from her, she also got shot and lost her son and I couldn’t imagine the fear Marie had while being shot sitting in that back seat and watching this dude sit on her sons lifeless body. I feel for her wholeheartedly, so tragic I wouldn’t want to feels Marie pain right now. I am sure if any of you could take a stroll through Marie’s mind right now you’d all walk out bawling.

I disagree with you. They both lost someone they love and cherish. They both were in the car. They both saw what that fucking lunatic did to her brother/son. Marie got hurt in the midst of that psycho and Tophia walked from the car untouched. But gun violence yes she is a victim of, but not as insufferable as Marie’s take.

so i just looked more into this and All three individuals are affected by gun violence, but in different ways. The brother and mother are direct victims because they were shot. tophia, who ran away, is also a victim of gun violence because they were threatened with a gun and experienced the trauma of the attack. Gun violence isn’t just about being physically harmed—it also includes situations where people are threatened, witness shootings, or suffer psychological and emotional consequences from such incidents.

yeah, tophia was in a gun violent SITUATION, she happened to be the only one to tun off and take cover but she was still involved in the situation, just because she didn’t die doesn’t make her trauma any less valid.

I think it depends. I think if Marie really wants to go online and has WIFI in a motel or Apartment Tophia wouldn’t be able to stop her. She's an armed carjacking victim and murder witness. She woke up to her brother getting shot in the head and witnessed her family getting shot & carjacked. That makes you a victim of gun violence.
