I feel so bad for Tophia. She doesn’t need this, she doesn’t deserve this
Next time you see a person with Down syndrome. Walk up to them and say you don’t deserve this. You don’t need a job. You’ve been through enough and make excuses to them why they shouldn’t be working or volunteering

Anyone who defends tophia. Please walk up to those strong courageous individuals and say you don’t need to volunteer or work. You’ve been through a lot.

There is no excuse to Enable and Defend Tophia why she can’t work. There is no excuse that makes it excusable why she can’t get out there and work a fulltime job!

I'm met quite a few people with bad disabilities that were some of the most outgoing people that would work hard and even sign up for voluntary overtime at work. Tophatchu is just a really lazy, spoiled, sheltered, egotistical 30+ y/o child that refuses to grow up.

I heard someone say "tophia scams people because she's disabled." what. why are we saying this? this is absolutely disgusting and makes me so upset, as someone who has disabled siblings.
my brother is disabled and guess what? he has a job. he pays his own bills and taxes. he takes care of himself, even if its hard.

Exactly! I am telling you a girl. I have heard stories that brings tears to your eyes. Everytime I get down on myself and feel like giving up. I remember those stories and faces. These people I have encountered are so strong and courageous and show up with a smile on their face everyday! Then I see that fucking lazy, misfit, narcissistic bitch say she can’t work and help provide for her family? WTF? She refuses to better herself and her struggling family? Then she actually has supporters and defenders? It’s mind blowing?? I want those enablers and defenders to do exactly what I said to the people I said above. I dare them !

They want to fit in and stand beside everyone else. I am so tired of people giving Tophia an excuse cause she may have a learning disability? I've spoken about the learning disability on here. I have a learning comprehension disorder and wasn't diagnosed with it until I was 18. I had to work around it. She should have been doing the same. You just have a different learning curve than others. You aren't mentally inept.

very interesting you mention Down syndrome because i'm sure a lot of people genuinely would say that about people with Down syndrome. they have been fighting for a long time for people to stop acting like they are incapable of doing anything but yet somehow people still believe they are not capable of holding a job or anything.
i've never worked with someone who has down syndrome but i have worked with disabled people and they can be some of the hardest workers.

In the last place I lived the neighbors were a newlywed couple with downs. They lived by themselves. Worked by themselves. Got the bus to and from work by themselves. The only difference is his dad came by to tell us and give us his number just in case there's an emergency. I only had to call him once because a known methhead was trying to befriend them and I saw trouble. Other than that they never had an incident. They did just fine being only checked in on twice a week by caregivers.

Also the idea that disabled people cannot work or contribute to our society is wildly ableist and incorrect. I'm so tired of people saying a disability means you cannot work. I've been disabled my entire life. I never applied for disability because quite frankly I didn't want to live so far under the poverty line. I worked. I worked until I couldn't do that work anymore and then I started volunteering. You know why? Because stopping work made me depressed. Made me feel without purpose. Rutterless. I felt like a burden. So I started volunteering and got me a couple side hustles.
There are some disabilities that make working almost impossible but not every disabled person is incapable of working. Saying that all disability means you cannot work feeds the stigma that disabled people are not worth hiring. This is a misconception the disabled community has been fighting against for decades. People like tophia set it back.

I think a lot of people forgot disabled people are PEOPLE who can and do things for themselves on the regular. Tophia defenders definitely forget this and it honestly urks me because I come across so many of them who infantile disabled people including tophia just to defend her and her horrible actions. Exactly. They are being ableist. Disabled Americans fought so hard for equal treatment and employment opportunities and now with DEI demolished there's less incentive for people to hire. These assholes are openly and publicly feeding the stigma that disabled people aren't equal members of society. She is no better than all the loser Tik Tok scammers who sit on live and concoct their lies and fake stories. It’s actually ironic because Tophia is one of the most inept, ignorant individuals I’ve ever come across online, but the people that donate to her are even worse off in the intelligence department and THAT is actually frightening because the bar is so low.
She is over 30 and had years to better her situation and quality of life but she chose to sit on her big flat ass and do nothing but spew her bullshit on social media…so I do not feel one bit of sympathy for her. Time to grow up Tophy!!

I had a co-worker that was battling brain cancer still come to work. And a woman that was so sick she had to sit down and rest before she could walk back to our station. I worked when I was pregnant ankles swollen and all. She’s not special what happened was terrible but she can’t use that for the rest of her life. If she becomes her Moms age what is she gonna do she won’t have kids to fall back on. She’ll have to work until she dies.

As someone who is genuinely disabled (extremely bad bipolar depression + panic disorder + autoimmune illness) and hasn’t been able to work in almost a year because of it, I can’t stomach seeing this woman who is fully capable of taking care of herself trying to guilt people into paying for her whole life. She was fully capable of working before this tragedy happened, but now she will have a permanent excuse as to why she won’t work. She absolutely should take time to heal and grief shows up differently from person to person, but she genuinely isn’t behaving like someone who is traumatized or grieving. It’s a bit disturbing, actually.

Respectfully, if you didn’t have help from family and I assume govt disability, wouldn’t you *have* to go iut and work. I had a co-worker with autoimmune issues and she would still show up to work with gauze and pads in her literal open wounds on her armpits and groin areas just to keep everything tidy and maintained while she worked. She spent a few years like this before she could get surgery.
I currently work with various people with mental health issues, sure we basically have them mentally break down almost everyday and they just need time to work through it and go back to what they were doing, but they have to work to make a living and survive. See how comparing other people’s issues to yours is not really great? Cause then you’ll respond to with “but but,” but imagine you have no support from family or friends, no savings, no govt assistance. You’d be clocking in and taking breaks for your breakdowns like the rest of people

Actually, the reason why I was able to support myself was from my own savings that I built through working in addition to my disability benefits from my full time job lol. Sometimes you can’t just force yourself to do things which is why many people lose their jobs and homes as a result of struggling with their disabilities. Okay, so let’s walk through this. Are you aware that there are people who are undiagnosed with mental illness? That the cost of being diagnosed costs money and depending on the state a person lives in, they have a higher cost of living or poor govt resources which contributes to why they can’t afford mental healthcare? So what about Tophia’s case? Is she not highly suspected of being undiagnosed, and did she not get fired from jobs she had in the past because of various reasons that most likely had to do with her undiagnosed mental issues?
Not all people on the spectrum are these “nice, down to earth people.” It’s a misconception about people on the spectrum. You can literally have some with poor emotional regulation and they can become violent. You can have some higher functioning ones who can have a combination of other not so nice attributes like Tophia. Where she’s egotistical and thinks she can get things handed to her.

1) I think she’s only had one job which she allegedly was fired from due to hygiene issues, 2) I would be more willing to acknowledge this as a valid counterpoint if Tophia’s reasoning behind not wanting to work was ever related to her disability, but it historically HAS NOT been. Her reasoning for not wanting to work is just because she doesn’t *WANT* to. And that’s straight out of her own mouth lol. She thinks the world has to be handed to her and that she shouldn’t have to truly work for anything. Sure that mindset could arguably be due to undiagnosed mental illness, but it’s most likely just due to entitlement (especially because her mother coddles her).

I absolutely felt bad for her because no matter what tophia or any of the other gorls i watch (foodie beauty, amberlynn) does, i wouldn't want them or anyone else to go through what tophia went through that night. It's horrible. That being said, i would never donate to her or anyone else no matter what. At the end of the day, tophia is still tophia. I thought she was going to be on good behavior for a while before reverting back to the real tophia but she converted back to her old self in record time.

There are plenty of grown adults with disabilities who can work. Many people with learning disabilities are mainly in the workforce or in the administrative sector because those jobs are repetitive. I myself is on the spectrum and job searching at the moment. Tophia doesn’t have an excuse as to why she can’t get a job. I was about to lose my mind until I actually read the whole thing—thankfully, reading comprehension saved me there lol. That said, I think most people agree on being against the idea of babying her and continuing to donate, especially when she’s clearly physically and mentally capable of working a regular job. She just flat-out refuses to, and that’s largely because she’s been enabled—both by her family and her online following.
She’s come to accept that she might be able to scrape by, and I mean that generously, on donations and social media subs alone. That’s why she loses it whenever she can’t go live or when her page gets a strike—because it threatens the one thing she relies on. It’s the same reason she “reviewed” a hoodie she didn’t even have—if she didn’t, her page could’ve gotten hit again. She’s just doing whatever she can to avoid facing real responsibilities, instead of stepping up and handling life like a grown adult.
Honestly, it’s disturbing. And what’s even more bizarre is the number of people—some of them struggling with jobs, bad managers, and toxic coworkers—who still choose to give their hard-earned money to her. It’s wild. One could argue that the folks donating are just as mentally checked out, if not more, than she is.

theres a worker with Down syndrome, one with cerebral palsy, multiple workers with autism/ID and a blind bagger at the Publix right next to where I live. I never understood why ppl think she can’t work. And for those saying ppl will call in or whatever, EDP445 has a job. Think about that.
