An Insult to Mental Health

I can’t stand listening to Tophia talk about mental health. In her recent live she was talking about how hard it was for her to get herself to go to Walmart. Any time she shares an anecdote about her life and how much her mental health is affecting her, I can think of about 100 times I’ve felt the same, while going through worse shit. I’m not here to share the details because I don’t need pity like Tophia does. The point is, I can recall plenty of times listening to her smack her lips while devouring some fast food garbage, while my own stomach eats itself from starvation. I’ve been hospitalized and on death’s door, only to drag myself back to work because I HAVE TO. And I’m talking within the last five years. Not decades ago like all the hospitalizations Tophia has had. The majority of people HAVE TO TOPHIA. They have families and responsibilities. She’s really gonna do anything to get that disability check. I’m really hoping for a homeless arc soon so she can learn what not working does to someone.

The thing is being a "content creator" (lolcow) is going to mean any investigator for the government is going to tell right away she is able to work even if by some miracle the SSI got approved. She doesn't stand a chance any way you look at it. The only possibility is if her diabetes got so bad that she needed limbs amputated

Yeah, if you have any way of earning a living, you’re going to get denied. I also think her lack of work history will work against her here. She’s saying she’s too depressed to work. The obvious question is going to be, “Well, how would you know?”

For SSI, you can qualify if you have no work history. SSI is for people with developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, conditions where you would have been born with it and therefore could never be expected to earn a living in the first place. SSDI is for people who have been able to work in the past but can't anymore. My guess is she will try to say she's never been able to work because she's always had super bad depression or something, which is just not going to be successful for her.

Right, I didn’t mean that she wouldn’t qualify because she hasn’t worked. I just meant that, given that she’s spent the past 10+ years not working and she’s trying to claim that she can’t work due to the depression and PTSD from the accident, it’s going to hurt her credibility. And if she claims that she’s been depressed all this time, first, she’s earned a living off TikTok (or so she claims) and she’s documented all the things that she’s done over the past few years, like attend Comicon.

She just has zero credibility and it’s going to be very hard for her to explain why she’s suddenly asking for disability now.

If it’s any consolation, Tophia has a snowball’s chance in hell of getting disability. Her first strike is that she’s under 55 years old. That’s typically an automatic denial, unless they can prove otherwise. She has no medical history to backup her diagnoses, and especially, she has no work history. Even with a disability attorney, I still don’t see her winning her case. Even SSI has requirements that she doesn’t meet.

I don’t think she can even get it together enough to get an application in for an initial rejection and, while I don’t do disability law, I do know that they’re paid out of the back pay and so I doubt that any attorney would take a disability case initially because there’s no way they’d get paid. Disability is barely enough to live on and there’s no way that someone would offer financing to Tophia. And I may be wrong, but I don’t think she’d get much help from any legal aid group. And, again, even if she did, she would have had to actually applied and been denied. If someone knows more, but all means correct me. But I just figure that once she sees how much work and documentation is involved, she’ll give up.

Then, to add an extra wrinkle, I don’t know how the SSA is after all the DOGE cuts, but I’m sure they’re barely limping along , so it would take forever to even process an application.

You’re 1000% correct ✅ I think in her mind she thought it was as easy as walking up to the counter, telling them she can’t work because of PTSD and major depression, they give her a paper to sign, and that’s it! 😅 IF she were serious about it, she would find a disability attorney to help her fill out the initial application. It is thick as a notebook. And once the attorney realizes there’s no medical history to back up her claim, no work history to list, and also she’s been dependent on government assistance since before she was even born. Let them tell her she has no case! 😅 But knowing Tophia, she’ll create story about discrimination blah blah blah instead of accepting the truth that she’s a leech on society and the free handouts won’t last forever.

At least she can eat greasy food and McDonalds to her heart’s content, because people with allergies cant even enjoy a gluten free snack without the dog alerting to a contaminated snack but go on, toph
