My parents had savings accounts for me when I was a baby and took me to open a checking account when I was 15. That really is where Tophia was starting with a huge handicap, since her parents had no life skills to teach her, and I absolutely have sympathy for her there…as well as anyone else who didn’t have that support.
On the other hand, though, I’m actually going to open another account tomorrow. You just literally walk in a bank and tell the teller, “Hi, I’d like to open an account.” Or you can open one online. Or you can Google it. Or she could have ChatGPT walk her through the steps.
It sucks she had a bad start, but living like this isn’t hurting anyone but her. She needs to decide she deserves better and take the steps needed to fix things.
