Reality is hitting homegirl HARD lol. She’s gotten a break from Marie these past 6 months and lived out a fantasy life of actually having other adult friends and a potential ShelterBae but that all came to a screeching halt. Now her reality is taking care of Marie on her own and managing her measly $100 a month in EBT. But I never got the impression they liked each other, let alone loved each other, to him she was just an annoying drain on his resources and to her, he was just her cash machine/chauffer.
The majority of the time they spoke to and about each other like shit, he denied being related to her when someone asked him if he was tophias brother, he was ashamed of her.
The only reason she’s showing any kind of remorse now is because the money and food she gained out of his death is drying up and she is desperately trying to get her junk food fix.
If someone offered her her brother back and they were homeless in the car again, or she could have him dead but she would get the go fund me and the comfort of the shelter she would without a doubt choose the material stuff. She’s been the happiest I’ve seen her in years the few months because she’s had hundreds of dollars in fast food vouchers and loads of donations from people with more money than intelligence so she’s had new nails/hair dye/clothes and she’s been fucking LOVING it, giggly and high, “finger licking ribs”

Not surprised at all this is how she sees it in her head. His senseless killing was him abandoning her, now she’s left to take care of mamachu, find shelter, maintain any sort of income flow, etc. Even the way she refers to the incident, it’s all about HER trauma, how SHE was victimized, her elderly mother who was damn near shot in the face isn’t even an afterthought.
She loves to proclaim that brotherchu did fuck all for them, it was her paying for everything and taking care of them. Well, if that’s the case and he was so useless, why is it now that he’s gone, they have next to nothing? They have even less now than they had during the several months living in a car. Grief comes and goes.
If you've ever lost someone... so many times it doesnt feel real or true. You truly don't believe they're gone or it at least has yet to fully register with you. Until you approach a situation or event where they're normally there, and they don't show up, then the grieving comes instead since now its really hitting/registering.
These do come off as crocodile tears a bit, though. Especially since shes done nothing since her brothers passing.
