Now me understanding why doesn't mean it's valid, I just had to get in the head space of a fucking caveman. Marie already lost her son in a traumatic way and relies on everyone else around her. Not sure how to word this without it defending her, but abusive relationships do tend to isolate you, I'm not surprised that she barely has any friends and isn't close with her family after meeting papachu. Even though she is a victim, she also has stated that she enjoys being a bum. She happily let her son work different jobs couch surfing just to house her and her daughter's fat, dirty, sloppy asses. Another important thing with elder abuse is that it's very rare to see parents be quick to snitch on their children for abusing them. Many of them are like Marie (most likely not as dumb and fking useless), so I'd never see Marie as the exception to this. Now that she's witnessed her child die in such a horrific way and experience almost dying herself, it makes perfect sense that she'd cling even harder onto her last child especially since she's lost 2 now (Bernadette). Her and Tophia have an extremely unhealthy relationship where Tophia essentially puts Marie in a position to rely on her and Marie continues to enable her. That entire family lives in their own chuniverse, reality was never gonna settle in😭😭😭 Marie just gon sleep on the streets with the roaches to keep her comfort😒
