The bottom line is that the uncle offered them a place to stay. Tophia convinced her brother and her mother, even though the both of them originally wanted to live with the uncle because she knew that that man would’ve made her go get a job, she would’ve had responsibilities, and she can’t sit on her ass all day running up his electric and WiFi bill. Tophia would rather her whole entire family be homeless and live in a car so she can avoid any type of accountability.
