I hope not. I can’t speak for all hospitals but when I had major surgery that required wound packing (don’t look this up if you don’t know what it is — it’s gross and horrible) the hospital made sure 1000x times that when I went home I was going to have someone to help me pack the wound because I couldn’t do it myself. Had my mom come in and verify she would be able to do it (thankfully she was a nurse). They said they couldn’t release me unless they knew I would be safe and healthy at home, and I had no insurance (I assume the same goes for Marie). I’m not sure if it’s a law or anything but I’m pretty sure hospitals have a duty to release you to a safe environment for recovery. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s how Marie ends up in a nursing home against Tophia’s wishes.

Idk if laws vary by state or by age group, but at least in the peds hospital I work at caregivers may need to do a 12/24 hour stay demonstration to show they can perform the care.

Rehab and long term care is a must at this point till she fully or semi recovers. Tophi cannot take on a caretaker role at the moment. Pills, pharmacies, rehab @ local clinic, hospital visits, all things tofu would need to do to be able to fully support Marie. So sad. X

I don’t know why but I’m really shocked that it hasn’t even been two full weeks and Tophia is trying to get a whole ass house out of this tragic situation. People can barely afford food and rent for themselves! And even if they got a house, who is going to pay for gas, electric and water every month? Does she expect her supporters to pay for that forever too?
Maybe I’m being too optimistic, but I don’t think any kind of authority figure with any kind of sense will look at this situation and approve of Tophia being Marie’s caregiver. Marie was already having health problems and Donald was the only one trying to keep them afloat. She’s at an age now where even a fall could cause complications that could kill her. Like others have said, a gunshot wound ain’t nothing to play with. Marie needs consistent, competent care likely for the rest of her life. Being a caregiver is hard work - emotionally, mentally and physically. Tophia would, at most, do it for a few days and then end up screaming at Marie because she’s interrupting her streams.

I always found that part to not make sense. Why would the killer shoot Donald asleep and then run to the passenger side to get Tophia out just to eventually go back to the drivers side and sit on Donald’s body and drive away? I’m pretty sure she woke up to the shooting, saw Donald and ran out. Marie on the other hand, she’s hard of hearing so she probably wasn’t alerted by the shooting until after she got shot.

the killer seems like the type to not care about killing anyone, he’ll shoot anything in his way. I honestly think he was running and saw their car and decided to carjack it, as he was getting closer, he saw Donald sitting there asleep so he shot him through the window and killed him, opened the car door, and immediately sat on Donald’s body and drove off. Instead of wasting time running to the passenger side to pull tophia out and then running back to the driver side, he could of used that time to pull Donald’s body out the car so he can have the driver seat empty which would of been easier to drive in then to be sitting on top of someone but he didn’t. The fact that he sat on Donald’s dead body and drove off tells me that everything happened really quickly, which the narrative of pulling tophia out the car doesn’t fit into.-

I could be wrong but I remembered it was first reported that Marie was accidentally shot by the security guard who killed the suspect after he took the car. And Donald wasn’t asleep when he was shot. He refused to get out when the dude told him to so he shot him. Tophia claimed he sat on Donald’s body. That doesn’t make a whole lot of sense and I don’t think Donald was at the scene of the second crash.

I dont think that was actually reported, it was ppl speculating. Ppl assumed the cops actually accidentally hit her while getting the suspect. Tophia was right abt the guy sitting on donald, the police/detectives have never said the body was moved and have said he was in the driver's seat when the suspect got out the car (the second crash). There's no way he can drive the car from the passenger's seat

Thank you! This has been driving me crazy. I’m so glad someone finally mentioned it. Because in her initial Instagram story, she said that she ran and then hours later, when reports were being released, it was being said that the man was trying to pull her out. It made me wonder if she was trying to spin the narrative since she lies so much, it could also just be bad reporting but who knows.

The only good thing about this is that she will be put, via Medicaid, into assisted living. She was homeless and incontinent before but now she needs round the clock help. Tophia must pull herself up by her bootstraps cause she will have no one to enable her nor provide for her so she can go live.

Its fairly easy to take care of a kitten/cat after being spayed. Tophia botched that shit terribly. A bullet entering thru the ear and exiting thru the nose is insane, i assume thats way harder to clean than if someone was shot in a much wider... less "complicated" area. Yeah an infection there would literally take her out, thats too close to her damn brain. Wow. She is extremely lucky to be alive taking a bullet to that area. I know someone who messed up their jaw last year in a much less traumatic way and had to go through several surgeries and is just getting back to approaching normal now. I hope someone in that hospital makes sure she follows whatever plan they set up for her, because even something as simple as moving too fast to solid foods can cause serious setbacks. And at her age I'm sure the process of healing takes even longer.

Something I’ve been wondering, if a doctor signs off and says it’s medically necessary for Marie to be in a rehab/nursing facility would Tophia be able to go against that and sign Marie out? I don’t think Tophia would be able to, because Marie is able to make her own decisions unless they go to court for that. She shouldn’t, we can all agree to that, but if she wanted to sign out against medical advice there isn’t much they can do. I had a cousin get shot in the “head”. It entered behind his ear, traveled the skull, and came out under his eye. He lost sight in the eye and of course suffered a TBI- but he is still going through therapy and other things to get over the accident that happened YEARS ago. There is no way in hell Marie is going to recover quickly if Tophia takes her out of the hospital. There has to be some way the state can gain custody over her so that she doesn’t get hurt/die under Tophias care.
