Donald Jrs GFM reached its goal; now its at 10k for additional funds for the Slydells
I'm really happy that the gfm reached its goal; now JR can be laid to rest comfortably.
Now that the gfm's goal is 10k, if Tophia makes a GFM for herself I lowkey feel like that'll be a tad excessive, especially considering she'll probably ask for a large amount of money. I'm thinking like 10k plus since one of her top priorities as a car (she never mentioned stable housing???????).
Idk, I guess we'll see.

I don't think people realize how little money 10k when you're spending recklessly. I see it with friends and family on a 6-8k tax return. For someone in a very crappy position, it could be life changing money. But for someone with poor decision making skills and worse impulse control, it can easily be gone in 2-3 months with nothing to show for it.
I'd put solid bets on what category I think Big T winds up under...

Idk some states just because you have 0 income does not mean you are automatically Medicaid eligible. If you are of working age and don’t have a disability or are pregnant they can deny you Medicaid.

Is 10k enough to turn your life around? Can it pay rent + deposit while you find an entry level fast food job with staff meals and will it be enough to keep you going?
Can it get you into trade school? Learn something for basic jobs like plumbing or landscaping or sewing?

10k won’t get her into an apartment complex. You still need to provide other documents and reach certain qualifications showing you’ll be able to afford the apartment after the moneys gone.

I'd say 10k is just barely enough to get started from almost nothing. Moving in somewhere can easily cost 3-5k alone (for someone with good credit and background check), plus all the deposits for utilities and such, close to 5k for a car with taxes/title/ insurance deposit...
Basically what I'm saying is 10k would be almost enough for someone making all the right choices and being seriously disciplined. Seeing the way Tophia spends, I'd say she'd have to have 30-40k to even have a chance at seeing enough of that money go to the "right" places

Obviously you can shift those numbers a bit, maybe you know someone that cuts you a deal on a beater, maybe you find someone that will rent you a room in their place pretty cheap, but in general I'd day it's a decent baseline

Idk how things like this work but couldn’t there be someone who handles the money for her, like after all the funeral costs are paid? If all that’s given to her in one lump sum it’s gonna be gone within hours. Someone to make sure the funds go to needs and not makeup and toys. Would a social worker be able to do this?

It’s at $7062 rn. There likely won’t be a viewing as he was shot in the head. I can see them simply keeping the ashes after his body is cremated. I would be very surprised if they pay for a burial

Idk about you guys but I would have donated had I known the cost were going to lay Donald Jr. to rest. We don’t know they may just cremate him and keep the rest of the money. She’s going to blow through that like there’s not tomorrow. And end up in the same situation again. She’s getting cash apps, PayPal’s, and money from 2 gfms it needs to be put towards a place to stay. She doesn’t need an Xbox, camera, a car, fast food or anything like that right now a safe place to stay is priority. Unfortunately I don’t see her prioritizing that.

The goal has gone up twice actually, the initial goal was 4.5k which would have been enough to have a service for Donald and then cremate him after according to some of the average prices in Albuquerque. It then went up to 6.5k and now 10k. The creator of the GoFundMe did state yesterday on an update on GoFundMe that any remaining money after the funeral services will go to Marie’s medical bills and helping them restart their life. I am a bit concerned though because on her story, she had mentioned that they had received help on Marie’s bills and her current and past health issues, idk if they’re covering the entirety of the medical bills, whoever it is but regardless, I am concerned because she’s already talking about buying a car and getting her license so she can drive her mom around instead of focusing on a place to stay. Public transportation is a thing and they can worry about a car later, what they need a roof over their head. If they get a car and still remain on the streets, what happened to Donald could happen to her and her mother again.

There is a few issues with this, she’s on the DNR, and unless Marie has a clean credit history one of them would have to put the lease in their name. Which, would be opening themselves up to being liable for the rent and damages. Even when the family has had enough money coming in to pay rent, it was less of a priority than door dash, makeup, and comic con. It’s a genuinely kind thing to want to get them into an apartment, but a logistical nightmare because she is so irresponsible.

Even with the death of brother chu and Marie’s tragic injuries in which I whole heartedly praying for her recovery I still can’t stand or like Tophia.
