it’s when the baby passes away in the womb, typically due to medical complications. so the baby was born deceased. very unfortunate, but bernadette (the baby’s name) was born BEFORE tophia, so she never actually was around when marie went through that.

This. I dislike Tophia just as much as the next, but this is something we should be sensitive towards. I know in my own experiences of grief that whenever I did have a small boost of happiness, I felt guilty for it. Grief is a very complicated emotion and every person experiences it differently.

Her hair is literally the one thing she's got going for her and she refuses to take care of it. If she actually followed a routine instead of dry brushing her curls into a frizzy mess, her hair would genuinely be really pretty and super curly. I don't like to comment on people's appearances, but Tophia is genuinely one of the most unfortunate looking people I've ever seen with a personality to match.
