I'm curious
I know nothing about New Mexico and laws about insurance. But do we know do they have insurance like Medicaid? And how are they going to pay the medical bills once Marie is out? Especially since it's the new year they likely have a deductible that hasn't been met.

Don’t they also go back 2 yrs worth of medical bills? In Florida that’s how it is.

They aren’t going to pay anything. The costs will just get passed on to insurance companies, the state, and other ~~victims~~ patients.
The fact that our country can go through this bizarre kabuki theater to pretend we aren’t all sharing the costs of healthcare genuinely makes me angry.

Medicaid will pay the hospital bill, but they will stop paying if Marie stays longer than what she medically has to- but that’s all Medicaid. If she needs rehab or an outpatient recovery place, Medicaid may pay for it if her doctor says she needs it but, again, it wouldn’t be longer than what she minimally needs. Medicaid will also pay for any medicine she may need after, depending on what medication she needs.

I haven't anybody say this but is there any possibility Marie would need reconstructive surgery if she was shot through the nose and face? I don't think in any of her stories you can even hear her speak once which not even a single peep is a bit worrying.

It’s possible. Medicaid would fight to cover it, like the usually do, but would if her Dr deemed it medically necessary

If you don’t have any income or assets and don’t give a shit about your credit score you’re free to rack up as much debt as they’ll allow you.
If she were to not be on state insurance for whatever reason the only real trouble she would run into is getting prescriptions filled outside of the hospital.

i'm pretty sure at least marie has medicaid because they've had to get her inhalers and those aren't cheap without any insurance. and if she doesn't i'm sure someone in the hospital will make sure she's signed up for it before being discharged given her age and condition.

Tbh I don't know why people care about this. The bills will just pile up it happens to a lot of people. She didn't even pay her rent when she needed to what makes you think she cares about paying or trying to figure out how to pay medical bills

Marie has talked about being on Medicaid years ago when she had permission to go live. I remember she was talking about marrying Sr. Donald so she can be on his VA insurance so she can manage it and use it for her medicines. I think because she has dwarfism, she might of gotten SDI in the past; if she worked.

State insurance. Marie won’t have a bill to pay.
