Does anyone know why her dad has nothing to do with her? I mean, I can suspect why but he was seemingly not around when Tophia was growing up and hasn’t been around now. I’m guessing he’s broke too other Tophia and Marie would be hitting him up.

Marie claimed she was a party girl back in the day. When older people say that, they usually mean slutty.😅 So maybe they had a one night stand or a friends with benefits kind of thing and Tophia was conceived?

i'm disappointed that marie didn't wise up and become mature as she became older/ turned into a mom as I was told by my teachers that as you get older you become more wiser and mature

By the time Marie had Tophia, she was with Papachu. Or they got together shortly after she was born (I don’t know the entire Chulore). So maybe Papachu told Marie he’d take care of Tophia?
Honestly, I don’t think Marie has the capability to wise up. She supposedly believes that women shouldn’t work and should be taken care of by a man. Most women were taught that back in the day. Most got older and realized that times have changed. The whole Chu crew have the strange idea that other people should support them or are always on the hunt for a get rich quick scheme. Papachu ran financial scams through some company he had. The Chus were homeless at times and either lived off government benefits or hit up family for money. I think that’s one of the main reasons Tophia isn’t fazed by her current situation. She’s literally on the streets right now and still thinks she’s too good to work.

i find it hard to believe that marie believes that women shouldn't work considering how hard working her mom and sisters were as the women in marie's life worked their butts off.
I don't know where marie got that idea that she needs to be taken care of by a man and not work considering how she grew up during the late 1960s and 1970s during the women's liberation movement where women were taught that they didn't need a man and that they could just take of themselves.

i don't think marie had down syndrome as she would have been sent to a mental institution or steralized long ago as part of New Mexico's eugentics program considering how she was born in 1964 and it was common practice to put disabled people like her in the psych ward
i do think she might have autism or noone's syndrome

Tophia is definitely not Caucasian. The only thing they have in common is the hooded eyes. Tophias phenotype does not match his you can tell she’s a person of color. Her phenotype is different from Marie’s as well.
