lacking sympathy
hey y’all, i just noticed a lot of things with this whole conversation happening. the first thing that i wanted to point out is people mentioning tophia getting a job after all of this happened, while i do agree that she should get a job, it’s always a time and place for everything and i’m pretty sure she’s not okay mentally. another thing too is i see a lot of people disliking comments on here showing tophia sympathy, all i have to say is you’re not right, you’re very sick in the head, you can’t show someone sympathy once after they had to see/deal with all of this in little of time? but that’s all i have to say. thank you.

I posted most of this in another thread, but now I want to post it here.
I do agree that there is a time and place for certain discussions regarding the chus. But in the immediate aftermath of this madness...assuming she actually is in stable condition and makes it through, Mamachu is going to NEED Tophia - regardless of what that entails. And for her own sake, Tophia is clearly going to need Mamachu at the same time, because those are the unfortunate terms of their codependent existence. That's just the harsh reality.
It's not that I'm saying, boy she needs to get some job applications a week from now to deal with this. What I'm saying is that I HOPE this sparks SOMETHING in Tophia's mind that helps her to make some necessary long term changes for both of their sakes. Do that TODAY? Hell no - this kind of thing could take months to bounce back from. BUT, even in the immediate future...Tophia is going to need to be able to aid Mamachu and herself with Brotherchu gone. And there's nothing thoughtless or hostile about that mentality.

We all know she is not going to get a job. This is the perfect opportunity for her to milk sympathy, something she has always wanted. The eternal victim. And bleeding hearts will do just that. Of course. They'll give her money she'll happily waste. Why getting a job then when she can rely on pity bucks?

I’ve never commented in this sub before because I think people here take it too far, I’ve just been following Tophia for ~4ish years now.
The recent allegations of her brother are:
1) Allegations
2) Even if true, there are punishments in place by our justice system for people who text 15 year old girls and that punishment is NOT being shot execution style in the head while you’re sleeping. The behavior in this sub is egregious.

i agree so much. everyone is entitled to how they feel about her but idk it just seems inappropriate as of right now to use this as a ‘oh but she…’ moment or crack jokes at her expense bc of what she’s said in the past. her and her family were sleeping in their car and in the blink of an eye her brother is dead and her mom is shot. her whole life turned upside down in a matter of seconds and quite frankly i dont think she has the mental capacity to handle this on her own whilst also dealing with people trolling her about this situation. idk its just sad and i wish people were willing to be more nuanced regarding the situation
There's a time and a place for job talk but I think this is gonna prove to be like an intervention point for her--between the obvious police and hospital involvement that's gonna be happening, someone, surely, is gonna get through to her about a shelter or some kind of supported living to get off the streets, she's not just alone on the internet now and maybe this is where someone steps in from a place of authority. She's not gonna be in the right place to process doing any of this herself but now is the best opportunity for it to be done for her maybe.
