Tophia’s refusal to get a job and actually help the family get out of homelessness put them in a dangerous position where something like this was bound to happen at some point. If they had 2 stable incomes they could’ve in a much safer living situation (like an apartment). I seriously hope that she will learn from this, get off of the internet, find a real job, and be able to provide for her and her elderly mother.

I assume you have a place to sleep indoors as do I. Did you know any one of us could get robbed at gun point from the safety of our bed? Bad people will be bad people regardless where you sleep. Especially in a dangerous place like Albuquerque.

I wouldn’t say she is to blame for some other criminal happening upon her car and shooting at them. That’s the carjackers fault.

Tophia can only be blamed for things she directly caused. You could say she is partially to blame for not helping her family get an apartment by working. But even apartments can be broken into and people can be shot. So I don’t think this is a comparable thing.

If, for example, the weather was freezing and her mom got hypothermia and tophia refused to take her to the ER and then her mom died, then it would be easier to place blame on her because she could have realistically done something to prevent that because it’s her own family

  Im not saying that she’s the entire reason or even the main one, this is a tragedy, but, this situation could’ve easily been avoided.
