my personal thoughts

i wished that more people had more nuanced thinking about certain issues and perspectives because it would really open your heart to more compassion.

you can dislike tophia, and everything she’s done (as is documented on this subreddit), and also believe that something like this shouldn’t have happened. it is possible to acknowledge that yes, the family is imperfect, and done some very unorthodox and (borderline disturbing) things, made some terrible decisions that led to their predicament (being homeless living out of a car), and also think that as much as they’re not good people, this shouldn’t have happened.

i also think that personally, as much as there’s so much infighting currently happening with people being conflicted as to whether they want to support tophia or not due to her actions, i don’t think that in this conversation, that there are any winners. yes, their inactions led them down to a path of poverty and homelessness, but also the harassment that tophia receives from people on the internet also has (whether people want to acknowledge it or not) contributed to this.

i don’t want this post to be interpreted as a defence of tophia or donald jr’s actions, but at least, if anything, have a shred of common decency and have, even a little, respect for donald jr posthumously, even if you hate him.

because for some of you, common sense is chasing you, yet, you are faster.
