   Mainly because they couldn't get Marnie stabilized enough to see Tophia or they couldn't identify Tophia.

   She could have been getting questioned (Marie). They come bedside during the first 48 of an investigation.

   That's how it is when you're killed. When my cousin was 15 and murdered in Albuquerque, my brother was with him. He had to drive him to the hospital with a hole through his head (no cell phones at the time!) they didn't even let him notify any of us. They were grilling him about the details first. We didn't learn of this incident until HOURS after the fact because he was traumatized- just trying to remember our phone numbers so the hospital could contact everyone. It's standard.

   I think you're right. The police probably needed to talk to her 1st BEFORE Tophia started filling in the blanks.

   Most likely for hospital staff safety. The hospital has to make sure that Marie having visitors isn't a risk to staff and patients.
