i feel you! you’re not alone, i am very insecure about my general appearance but especially my teeth. i run on caffeine, and i’m super pale so any staining i feel is magnified. and my mental health definitely affects my routine tooth brushing and dentist visits.
i also ended up visiting the dentist recently and got the work i needed, along with regular flossing because of that first image in particular of toph. i refuse to let my gums get to that state. i can only imagine if she *hypothetically visited the dentist what they would say

It's also pretty easy to take care of your teeth without a dentist as long as you brush twice a day, floss once a day, and limit those kinds of foods and drinks. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss are dirt cheap and you just need a water bottle to rinse everything. It baffles me as to why they can't at least do that, especially since it looks very painful

Tophias laziness makes me feel like the energizer bunny i never sit down I'm always cleaning and taking care of things she definitely needs some exercise and a healthy diet to start then some doctors for some medication for her issues

my teeth are a huge source of insecurity for me- i smoke, i drink black coffee, a lot of tea, wine, energy drinks, etc, so they’re not exactly pearly whites, and they’re slightly crooked.
unironically, seeing the state of tophias teeth/gums is one of the things that helped me grow a pair and see a dentist after years of not doing so as a young adult (i was terrified that they’d tell me my teeth were past the point of no return- thankfully that’s not the case. everyone, see your dentist!)
when tophia talks about her dream of being an influencer, i don’t think she means influencing people to take care of themselves out of fear they might end up like her, but her gums scare the shit out of me
