Tophia is insecure about turning 30 and she’s trying to hide it

It's so obvious. She said once that she finds it stupid when adults acknowledge "half" birthdays but she's just as annoying and particular about her own age considering she always feels the need to correct people who say she's 30 even though she's literally turning 30 tomorrow. "I'm 29." Like girl who cares atp. Why keep correcting it? People have caught on to her insecurity and that's why they keep doing it anyway.

I think the reason she's so insecure about it is probably bc she sees her youth as the only thing she has going for her. She's not attractive, smart, successful or anything else. To her, 20 somethings are still young and she probably thinks 30=old. The way she talks about Marie's age shows how weird her perception of age is. Marie is 60 and Tophia talks about her like she's 80+. "My mom is old". "My mom's cough is a natural part of aging" "My mom gets confused and forgets things because she's old". She talks about her 60 year old mom the way 12 year olds talk about their 40 year old moms.

Speaking of Tophia being childish, that's another reason I think she's insecure about turning 30. Tophia acts like a kid. We all talk about how she seems to have the brain of a 12 year old and all of her interests are things that, while fine for a 30 year old to be interested in, are mostly things that are geared towards kids or teens. I think she feels like the older she gets the weirder she'll look having such juvenile interests.
