I do believe she is depressed because of her lack of hygiene and the way she mostly let herself get that obese, the way she let her skin get to that point, maybe when she was younger since she was ugly she saw no point in taking care of herself and thats why she got a lot more ogrish with the years. Depression is not a term that you are sad all the time. People with depression also get very happy at some times.
It also involves sudden loss of interest in hobbies but she doesn't go through that type of stuff.
