What race/ethnicity would you peg Tophia as if you saw her for the first time randomly in the street?
I ask this because she keeps saying shes black.
Personally, i'd peg her as some kind of south american hispanic.
If not, the second i'd peg her as is Maybe South American Hispanic mixed with Black tbh... I really say black its because of her hair type.

Yep. Forms into dreadlocks pretty easily too. Mine's straight but it's pretty common to find like super, super curly and frizzy hair here, which makes it hard to buy it as the racial feature Tophia likes to claim.

Let me be clear—I am not talking about anyone mixed race. Frizzy, curly hair is entirely possible and not uncommon for straight up white folk. It's not quite the same as the denser curls more common in black people but Tophia does not have that kind of hair either, she just has curly hair that is no signifier of race.

As a Hispanic who grew up around other Hispanics I would just assume Hispanic just by looking at her. I have an Afro-Latino uncle, you could tell he was both black and Hispanic so there was no doubt there but toph literally just looks like an average Hispanic.
Her hair type isn’t as black as she assumes, you can tell the structure isn’t as resilient and I’ve seen plenty of Hispanics with that hair type with no black in them 🤷♀️
I’m not saying I know for sure her ethnicity, like if she says she’s Afro-Latina I’m not gonna argue with her. But just off of looks alone it’s not obvious.
