Tophia stop blaming us

Share: X Facebook LinkedIn Reddit
Tophia you not getting that GFM money is not our fault. It’s YOUR fault. First of all you lost his god damm death certificate which is literally the one thing you needed. GFM was trying to contact Ryan but he literally went MIA which has nothing to do with us. You literally admitted Ryan not responding was the reason GFM had to refund everyone. You’re the idiot for letting someone you don’t even know/have contact with be in charge of the donations. If you didn’t scam people in the past then maybe you could open it yourself, but even if you did we all know you would take everything and run. For once in your 32 years of life take some fucking responsibility, get a job and pay for your brothers funeral yourself. If you don’t want to get a job then don’t complain that he’s not buried. Simple as that. Hope you read this you fat cow.

It's not difficult to replace a death certificate either via Vitalchek. And they cost $5

I think after unclaimed for so long they can. I’m really thinking about flying out there and buying them from the morgue for research purposes. Yes Tophia if I can I’m going to.

I’m so sick of her thinking anyone owes her. It’s HER job to provide or use the resources available. She is 31!! I’m a few months older, my childhood wasn’t great but here I am, living life. I worked my butt off and my spouse and I provide for our kids. I could never chronically beg. She is capable, just lazy AF and that’s only HER problem.
I’m disgusted that she has been given more resources than most. What a waste.

It’s also her fault that people don’t trust her with money to begin with. The only reason people majorly donated to somebody else was because it’s common knowledge she can’t be trusted with money that’s meant for necessities….. and it’s not our fault that people automatically jumped to conclusions when she was caught out and about the first few times at Ross walking out with bags of stuff that’s definitely not necessities when she didn’t have a dime to our name prior…. leading people to think she was Miss using the GFM money. And even then when we got an explanation that the money she was spending was from authorities and her family? That didn’t make things better because it’s still painfully obvious that was meant for life essentials, not for her to go on a shopping spree.

Exactly! The GFM was to *help* bury him, not “bury him so that Tophia doesn’t have to pay anything*.  And, to be fair, it did mention any extra money going to help his family, which is pretty standard, but that was to help them (especially Marie) cover out of pocket expenses related to the hospitalization, get housing, and get onto more solid footing. Even if Tophia had intended to use the GFM to bury her brother and help her mom (which, sure Jan), it didn’t mean that any other money she got from government and private groups, her family, and viewers was money earmarked for Tophia to treat herself and that she was entitled to blow it all in the moment on the assumption of that she’d get the money later. And she *sats* it’s none of her business, but when she started asking other people to give her their money, it became their business. I don’t support micromanaging the finances if people who are getting help or expecting anyone whose poor to without any comforts, especially in the aftermath of something that was tragic and traumatic. I think most people would have been inclined to forgive her for making some bad choices with the money. The problem, though, is that if people are giving their money to someone else, they want to know they’ll handle it responsibly. And the fact that she got so defensive and downright entitled about the money didn’t help her at all. Money is a finite resource. If someone gives Tophia money, that’s money they can’t save, can’t spend on themselves, or can’t use to help other people or causes they believe in. If Tophia makes it clear that she’s going to handle it badly and that, at the end, she’ll be no better off then she was before she got the money, then people absolutely have the right to decide to ask for their donation back from GFM and if people honestly believe Tophia is being fraudulent or scamming people, they’re right to report it and let GFM investigate.

Tophia thinks that because she blames the internet for everything bad that’s happened to her, then the internet (or society in general) owes it to her to make sure she has all the things she wants without working or doing anything to deserve them and that’s not how that works.

>You literally admitted Ryan not responding was the reason GFM had to refund everyone.

Is that really the case, though?  GFM has procedures in place to provide for the beneficiary to still get the month if the person running the GFM disappears.
https://www.gofundme.com/c/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Beneficiary-Guarantee-Feb-13-24.pdf

It doesn’t *specifically* mention a situation  where the person running it doesn’t respond, but if they’re willing to give the beneficiary their own money if they don’t get the donations from the actual GFM, then they would certainly give money intended for the beneficiary. *Especially* since they get their cut from the donations, not the donors. Their example is that raising $500 would mean that the recipient gets $484, since they take 2.9% + $0.30. If the refund the donations, they refund them in full. GFM has every incentive to make sure the beneficiary gets any money intended for them. By refunding the donations, they’re *losing* money.
